Thor: Ragnarok Funko Pop! Vinyl Figures Revealed

A few months ahead of Thor: Ragnarok's theater release, Funko just unveiled their newest line of Thor Funko Pop! vinyl figures and they're AWESOME!

Though much of the marketing efforts Marvel has been doing are directed to Spider-Man: Homecoming, the studio still doesn't lose sight in giving Thor 3 some boost. Sure, the first trailer gained praise from fans and critics because of its similarity to Guardians of the Galaxy's vibe, but we haven't seen more marketing material for the film lately. With Funko's recent reveal, the hype engine for Thor: Ragnarok is running again.

The new Thor Funko Pop! line features new looks for the film's characters. We have the god of thunder himself Thor, Gladiator Hulk, a dagger-wielding Loki, the Grandmaster, a battle-ready Heimdall, and two variants of the goddess of death Hela with one variant featuring her iconic headdress. However, the said pops will hit store shelves later this year, specifically on the 3rd of November, the same day as the film's release!

Here's a breakdown of the characters immortalized by Funko through their Pop! line:

A new Thor Pop! figure is a must without question. Although Marvel has given Thor (Chris Hemsworth) a new haircut in the trailer, the iconic Norse God still has a lengthy mane and beard in the vinyl version. We are still hoping Funko will create a post-haircut Thor with the red face paint as seen in the first trailer. They could make it as an exclusive if that's what it takes to have it made.

We were looking forward to having two versions of Thor; instead, we got Hela- one featuring her famous helm and the other without it. Nevertheless, we are ecstatic, especially that neither ones were declared as exclusives so far. However, it's likely that one of these dope collectibles would end up exclusively in retailer stores soon. Hela, played by Cate Blanchett, is the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and probably the upcoming film's ultimate villain. In the trailer, we've seen how she easily crushed Mjolnir and announced the death of Asgard. Who could be more horrible than her?

The Grandmaster

Another addition to the MCU is the Grandmaster, portrayed by Jeff Goldblum. The Grandmaster is actually the brother of another Elder of the Universe, which we are already familiar with in the previous Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy films- The Collector. The Grandmaster takes pleasure seeing heroes and villains go head to head in a gladiator-style combat. Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role as The Grandmaster in Avengers: Infinity War. His role in the 2018 film remains to be seen.

We thought we lost Loki in Thor: The Dark World, only to find out that he actually faked his death and posed as Odin before the film's credits roll. We're not sure what kind of role Loki will be playing in the latest Thor movie. In the trailer we see him brandishing two daggers as well as joining the Grandmaster in the audience as Thor comes face to face against the Hulk. We'll still have to discover the connection between the Elder of the Universe and the God of mischief.

Heimdall (Idris Elba) sports a new look in his new Pop! figure. He's out of his Asgardian armour and helmet and is wearing something like a commoner would slip into. We're not sure where he would go after Hela destroys Asgard, but we surmise he'll have an important role to play since he's included in the current Pop! line.

Gladiator Hulk

When it comes to the most amazing detail, Gladiator Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) snatches the prize. We have a lot of questions as to why he ended up in the Grandmaster's arena. Will he win against the movie's protagonists? Or will he fight side by side with Thor in getting Asgard back?

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and opens in theaters on November 3, 2017.
